Geodiver 48

Geodiver 48 is a simple action game with a retro 8-bit pixel art aesthetic that requires quick reflexes and precise timing. Currently it contains 6 levels with increasing difficulty. The game only supports keyboard input.

The game was developed over the course of a weekend as my first solo entry (and 3rd overall) for the Ludum Dare 48 Jam (back in 2021). I created every part of the game on my own (coding, art, sfx).

Story summary

In AD 2134 an ancient alien race emerged from the depths of space and marched against Earth to harvest its energy sources. After suffering grave losses and losing 80% of its population, humanity emerged victorious. But victory came at a great cost; in an attempt to cut the enemy off from their main energy source, humanity’s last resort, Project Atheos, was activated, a climate engineering project designed to completely block the Sun’s rays from the Earth’s atmosphere.

While most of the aliens soonly perished, the few that survived submerged deep into the earth’s core in search of geothermal energy, laying dormant until ready for a counterattack.

To exterminate the last surviving aliens, an elite group of supersoldiers was assembled to inspect suspicious seismic signals, the Geodivers.

You are one of those elite soldiers, codenamed Geodiver 48, who was summoned to investigate a nearby seismic signal in a solo diving mission.
